For more than 40 years, we have built strong expertise in logistics and operations, serving customers and suppliers across a range of industries. Our development has been driven by continuous improvement, innovation, and close collaboration with the business community.

At the same time, industry is undergoing significant transformation driven by climate challenges, changing energy systems, and technological advancement. Fjord Base aims to be an active contributor to this transition.

Our ambition is not only to preserve existing jobs, but also to create new opportunities through the transition to a more sustainable society. Together with customers, suppliers, local communities, and public authorities, we work to enable solutions that minimize impacts on the climate, nature, and society.

We are actively engaged in developing opportunities within green hydrogen, ammonia, offshore wind, circular value chains, and other future-oriented business areas.

Environment

A more climate-friendly supply base

We are committed to driving more climate-friendly and energy-efficient operations. Climate and energy considerations are integrated throughout our business, from strategic decisions to day-to-day activities. Through continuous efforts to reduce energy demand and optimize the use of energy resources, we work to lower our carbon footprint. Our greenhouse gas inventory is prepared in accordance with the GHG Protocol and serves as the basis for targeted actions to reduce both direct emissions (Scope 1) and indirect emissions (Scope 2 and 3).

We strive to be a driving force for circular solutions and positive societal development. To achieve this, we invest in projects and initiatives that contribute to sustainable value creation. Through continuous efforts to reduce waste, increase recycling, and make smarter use of resources, we work to lower resource consumption and strengthen the circular economy. Our goal is to create greater value with fewer resources – benefiting our business, society, and the environment.

We strive to be a driving force for climate action and emissions reductions both within our own operations and throughout our value chain. To support this ambition, we have set a target to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2030. Through increased electrification, smarter logistics, and the use of alternative fuels, we actively work to reduce our climate footprint. At the same time, we invest in solutions that help our customers reduce their emissions, including the provision of shore power facilities at our quays.

We strive to be a driving force for a clean and sustainable marine environment. To achieve this, we actively work to prevent pollution, reduce the risk of spills and emissions, and protect the marine ecosystem surrounding our base. We monitor the ecological condition of the fjord and aim to preserve rich and diverse plant and animal life for future generations. Through systematic environmental management, robust emergency preparedness measures, and continuous improvement, we contribute to safeguarding the ocean as a vital resource for society and industry.

To achieve this, we work systematically to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging workplace, supported by high standards for health, environment, safety, quality, and security. At the same time, we conduct due diligence assessments in accordance with the Norwegian Transparency Act and identify risks related to human rights and decent working conditions throughout our value chain. If we identify violations or elevated risks, we follow up through dialogue, improvement measures, and collaboration with our suppliers. Through responsible operations, good working conditions, and long-term investments, we aim to contribute to sustainable value creation and positive impacts on the communities around us.
