About the project area

Fjord Base offers an attractive and flexible project area available for both short- and long-term lease. The area is well suited for the temporary storage of equipment and materials for the oil and gas, subsea and offshore wind industries. It can also be used for cable handling, spool assembly, and the handling and storage of equipment for aquaculture and closed-containment fish farming.

About Fjord Base

Fjord Base is Norway’s largest supply base, with more than 1.5 million m² of developed land and extensive infrastructure. Established in 1985, the base has built up considerable experience in property development, logistics and base operations.

Today, Fjord Base is a strong industrial cluster comprising 68 established companies and more than 650 employees. It serves as the primary supply base for the Snorre, Visund and Gjøa fields.

In addition to its offshore activities, Fjord Base actively facilitates the development of new industries and future-oriented business sectors, including offshore wind, fossil-free fuels and other green initiatives.

Location

The project area is centrally located in the eastern part of Fjord Base, with easy access to both northbound and southbound shipping lanes.

Fjord Base is located in Florø, in Kinn municipality. The area has good transport connections, including a local bus service to Fjord Base and a commuter bus between Florø and Førde. Florø Airport is only five minutes away and offers direct flights to Oslo and Bergen.

Florø also has a high-speed passenger ferry connection to Bergen and regular calls by the Norwegian Coastal Express.

Access

Fjord Base is easily accessible from the E39 via National Road 5. Florø Airport and the high-speed ferry terminal are both approximately five minutes away by taxi.
