At Fjord Base Group, we have a proactive culture where health, environment, safety, security, and quality (HSESQ) are deeply integrated into everything we do. Our commitment to HSESQ is not just part of our business but the very foundation of our operations. Through a proactive approach, we continuously work to prevent incidents and minimize risks. This commitment is our license to operate. Each day, we work systematically to improve our routines and ensure that we maintain a high standard in all our operations. Our goal is that everyone working at Fjord Base returns home safely every day.

The safety work at Fjord Base Group aims to protect our employees, assets, and both our own and our customers' operations, allowing us to achieve our overarching goals. Effective security begins with individual behavior and actions, as well as how we think and act daily, both at work and at home. By being mindful and reflecting on our daily routines and actions, we can all contribute to securing both our own safety and that of Fjord Base Group.

Fjord Base Group is responsible for the shared emergency preparedness on the base and will establish an emergency response team in the event of serious incidents. This team is dedicated to supporting involved companies during major incidents, ensuring good internal and external communication, caring for affected personnel, and providing necessary support to the industrial safety team during response efforts. To ensure effective follow-up and information flow during incidents on the base, we have implemented a digital emergency response system that allows us to manage situations quickly and accurately in collaboration with emergency services.

Sompetence development

Focus areas

The industrial vocational school is a project initiated by us at Fjord Base Group. Vocational schools are a tailored, career-focused alternative to traditional colleges, and we offer an interdisciplinary course with various subjects. The topics are customized to meet the needs of the entire Fjord Base—not just our internal needs. This education brings together managers and employees across companies, expertise areas, and departments.

The HSESQ Lighthouse is another important initiative within HSE and corporate responsibility at Fjord Base Group, aimed at enhancing the safety culture. We aim to work more closely together and establish interdisciplinary competence groups. This will enable knowledge sharing and exchange of experience across fields. Through this, we hope to discover new and improved methods for HSE work.

As part of the Lighthouse Project, we have launched a unique Culture Champion Programme. Being a Culture Champion at Fjord Base Group is about shaping our culture. Our champions are handpicked and serve as role models for all employees. They complete a programme that includes personal development, observation skills training and an introduction to a systematic approach to health, safety and the environment (HSE).

We aim to become a significant player in the green transition. To succeed, we need the right expertise, developed through both targeted recruitment and investment in our employees. Our overall strategy and objectives guide which skills we prioritise and how we bridge the gap between our current capabilities and future needs.

Continuous employee development is therefore central to our approach. Industrifagskolen, the Culture Champion Programme and relevant training courses are practical examples of how we develop our people and prepare our organisation for the future.

Industrivernet på Fjord Base er vår første innsats ved alvorlige hendelser. Gruppen består av medarbeidere fra flere selskaper på basen, med særskilt opplæring i brannvern og beredskap. Personellet er organisert i innsatsgrupper som skal kunne bekjempe brann, yte førstehjelp, ivareta orden og sikring, utføre tekniske oppgaver og forebygge eller begrense utslipp til det ytre miljøet. Gjennom opplæring, øvelser og samhandling bidrar industrivernet til rask og koordinert innsats når det trengs. Det er en viktig del av beredskapen vår og arbeidet med å sikre en trygg arbeidsplass for alle på basen.

Reports are received by the person responsible for HSE and quality and reviewed and followed up by the Group’s management team.
